Bahanding Limpyo is the community face of something larger. The Cebu Intelligent Waste Initiative (CIWI) is the structured, data-driven program underneath — built to work with government, generate actionable waste composition data, and create a replicable model for the entire Visayas.
Cebu's Binaliw landfill is at or near capacity. The city spends millions annually on waste hauling and disposal — for materials that have recoverable market value. The gap is not awareness. It is infrastructure, incentive, and data.
Every collection under Bahanding Limpyo generates structured waste composition data — by barangay, by material type, by volume and frequency. This is not just recycling. It is the building of Cebu's first real-time waste intelligence layer.
CIWI is designed to support LGU compliance with RA 9003 (Ecological Solid Waste Management Act) and national EPR mandates. We proposed a 3-barangay pilot to Cebu City and Provincial leadership — structured, time-bound, and measurable from day one.
FMCG companies operating in Cebu face growing EPR compliance pressure. CIWI gives them a credible, auditable local partner — with community reach they cannot build on their own, and data that satisfies regulatory reporting requirements.
